Our Special Drought Breaking Friends
Kidney Health Australia (KHA) are the lead organisation promoting kidney and urinary tract health through research, consumer They achieve this by implementing awareness and education programs in conjunction with renal specialists, health professionals and educators to reduce the incidence of kidney disease in the community, funding cutting edge medical research into cures for kidney and urinary tract disease and providing a network of education, care and support for patients, their families and carers, promoting organ donation.
One of KHA’s main messages is promoting drinking water rather than other beverages. Water hydrates your body, is calorie free and is readily available. If you do not have enough fluids to keep your body hydrated, eventually urination stops and your kidneys will fail. The body can’t remove toxic waste products and in extreme cases, this may result in death.
So listen to your thirst and drink water instead!
